Northern Suburbs presents the works of the Catalan/Spanish artist Bernat Barris, who has recently exhibited in the contemporary art centre Can Sisteré in Barcelona, where he is Based.

 

His practice focuses on landscapes of urban outskirts. The artist represents anonymous places, lonely areas away from human presence. Among these spaces, we find ourselves in the middle of industrial estates, railways, road aqueducts, public spaces, constructions; spaces that have come about as a result of massive industrialisation. 

 

It is with great pleasure that we have put together this selection of paintings that depict the artist’s view of urban scenarios from his hometown.
